Player Backround
My name is Ulises Perez. I was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and raised in Solvang, California. I first got into street soccer during middle school when my friends invited me to play a game called “Poste.” We played on the basketball courts, and the goals were the posts under the hoops. That was my first real experience with what I now consider street soccer. After that, I started looking up street soccer videos online, and I kept seeing players like Edward van Gils, Issy Hitman, and Leamssi. Their style really inspired me and influenced the way I play. Two of my signature and favorite moves are the pull back and jump back—I've gotten so many megs with that combo. I also love using the simple akka; it helps me get around a lot of players and people love watching it. My favorite achievement so far has to be winning the Neymar Jr’s Five tournament in LA. I scored the final goal to win it and got to travel to Miami to play after that. I never got the chance to meet Issy Hitman, but I love how he plays simple yet amazing footwork. His style fits really well with how I like to play. Over the years.
I’ve also been featured in a few commercials, like LAFC’s new shoe release, a SoFi ad for the CONCACAF tournament, and a panna tournament for the release of the Club América jersey. I've also won a panna tournament tied to that jersey launch. One thing I’ve always wanted to share through my journey is that street soccer is for everyone. Age, gender, size none of that matters. Anyone can play. The most important thing is to have fun, connect with others, and enjoy the game. The ball brings all of us together and spreads joy, and that’s what makes it so special.
